I just came across an article on fashionindie.com on the 10 most and least oscar worthy gowns. So i had to share because some of these are absolutely beautiful whilst others really need questioning!
10 WORTHY
10 NOT SO WORTHY
I understand how in many case when there's a no/yes poll, we all look at the no and think hey that's not too bad and look at some of the yes' and just think how on earth did that get a yes! but you see it all depends on the reasoning your saying yes or no! many of the designs in the "nuh-uh" category are actually quite amazing designs for example Valli's design if toned down a little would actually be quite nice, nevertheless we are in this case sorting them with Oscars in mind! and oscars of 2012 i must add, being the reason for which Versace's last design didn't make it through! Likewise some that did make it through, I really don't think are that impressive! they'd look beautiful on when stylised but on the catwalk there is no way the Valentino dress stands out to me! it looks more like a beach maxi than an Oscars gown.
My ultimate favourites would have to be the Elie Saab and Giambattista Valli dresses! They are both beautiful and stunning in their own ways! the Saab being very innocent and youthful with a ray of sunshine from the pale yellow gown and also being very unexpected whilst the Valli is extremely elegant with that beautiful statement bow in the middle to split the top from the bottom! Bring on a TOGA PARTY!
That is all for now! I am still working on that Margiela piece, so that is soon to come...
